it ROCKED.we went there earlier at around 2 to help get the place ready.then we went back home to change and make up and arrived at spans again at 6 plus.by that time the doa selamat had already started.so we waited till it was over and then went to sit at our respective tables.guests started arriving and then aunty parveen and ilyas came down.aunty parveen looked so pretty in her pink outfit!it really suited her.daddy was the emcee for the night.he let the parents of the bride and groom to-be say a few words.after that,was the sugar-feeding ceremony.halfway throught,aunty parveen and ilyas went to change their outfit.so we were left to mingle and eat.the food was OK.i wouldnt say it was TERRIFIC.and then we waited.and waited.and waited.they took more than an hour to change.people were getting bored and some guests were leaving.so we were deciding whether to dance then or wait till parveen and ilyas came down.the original plan was to dance while they were changing but we wanted parveen to see the dance.so instead,we went to a corner to practice.there was no music,nothing so we sang.and hummed to the parts we didnt know.it was hilarious.when FINALLY parveen and ilyas came down,the sugar-feeding ceremony proceeded.i went to sugar-feed them.and after that was over,THEN we did our dance.we were all nervous wrecks,afraid we might screw up.but it wasnt so bad.we did good if i do say so myself.everyone was cheering and clapping.we soon lost our nervousness.people even threw money at us.daddy stuffed $10 down shabina's blouse!all in all we got $30.so we split it 5 ways.each got $6.not bad.ilyas said it was pathetic.but hey,it's better than nothing.so next year,we're going to dance again,only we're choosing a longer song so that there'll be more time for people to put money.haha.here are the photos.i didnt post all because some werent clear.anyhoo,here they are.
